Cosa ne pensate di un notebook senza disco e con una CPU a 6.8GHz, più 2TB di RAM quantum-optical? Sì, sembra impossibile per la maggior parte di noi, ma recentemente Atom Chip Corporation ha presentato ciò che definiscono un modello funzionante (Immagine 1) che sarà mostrato al CES l’anno prossimo a ‘Vegas. Atom Chip ha dichiarato che al posto del disco fisso, il notebook sarà dotato di RAM “non-volatile Quantum-Optical 2TB”. Compu-technics.com spiega che la periferica read-write è un laser che registra gli eventi sulla “non-volatile Quantum-Optical synchronous random accessible memory (NvlOpSRAM)” dotata di densità ultra-alta, velocità ultra-alta e dimensioni estremamente compatte senza parti meccaniche in movimento. La sostituzione del disco fisso funziona con gli stessi principi, “adattati in un paio di unità microdrive CompactFlash” secondo quanto afferma il sito web The Register.

Questa tecnologia è destinata a rivoluzionare l’industria delle schede madri. Oltre ad essere adatta ai portatili, grazie al suo basso consumo di elettricità e la batteria dall’incredibile durata di 8 ore, si presta ad un massiccio utilizzo anche nel mercato desktop e server per la sua stabilità ed un costo relativamente basso nella produzione. Il nuovo chip Quantum II con 256MB di memoria integrata può essere sostituito da quattro processori Intel Pentium M a 1.7Gh, per chi proprio non sa rinunciare alle soluzioni Intel. Il portatile è inoltre dotato di Bluetooth, GPRS, Wi-Fi ed implementa “Voice command”. In più, si possono usare due sistemi operativi, uno (naturalmente) è Microsoft Windows XP Server 2002 e l’altro è Linux.

Io ovviamente userei Linux.

Si, il Processore funziona mediante la trasmissione di fotoni, non elettroni, sarebbe a dire che è ottico, non elettronico, e si, la RAM è non volatile, se va via la corrente il contenuto rimane…è come una memoria Flash…solo che è ultraveloce e ultracapiente, e non è elettronica…è olografica !!!!!!!!!

Ah, questa azienda i è presentat al CES 2006…
Molti dicono che sia una bufala…molti no, io spero di no e continuo a pensare che esista e…

Ho sentito anche che l’iveco ha creato un transformers che aiuta i lavoratori a trasportare il materiale in breve tempo, l’ho visto con i miei occhi in giappone!!!!
